More than two-dozen young ladies entered The Discovering Me...Without You Personal Essay Contest 2021, telling their stories about father absence and resilience. The winners will be announced at this event. The top cash prize is $1,000.

About the event
Esther Productions Inc. invited young ladies ages 14 through 17 who live in the District of Columbia or Maryland or Virginia (DMV) to submit personal essays about growing up without the presence and active involvement of their fathers in their lives to the Discovering Me...Without You contest. More than two dozen of them accepted out invitation, telling stories that were heartfelt and that emotionally touched our panel of professional judges--Ana Acevedo, Pat Bitondo, Alycea Gayle, Ana Harvey, Alicia Henry, Shelly Livingston, Jerry Malmo, Addison Switzer and Winfield Swanson. After much deliberation, the judges selected the top winners, who will all receive cash prizes.
Come celebrate the 2021 Discoverers and give a special salute to the winners.
